Helmlight Beacon is a one-time computer health and security assessment. Using the Helmlight Info Collector, I review information about your firm's computers and devices, identify potential concerns, and provide practical recommendations for what to address next.

Beacon assesses your computers and recommends next steps. It does not make changes to your systems.

What Beacon Can Help You Find

What Beacon Reviews

Beacon reviews information collected from the computers and devices included in the assessment, including:

Windows and system information
Hardware and storage information
Installed software
System configuration
Security and device-protection settings
Other computer health and configuration information collected by the Helmlight Info Collector

What You Receive

At the conclusion of Beacon, you receive:

A written Beacon Final Report
Prioritized findings and recommended next steps
Observations about your devices, configuration, backups, and security practices
A findings review meeting to discuss the results and answer questions

Recommendations may include Foundation, Essentials, Secure+, another technology solution, working with your existing IT provider, or no additional Helmlight services at all.

How Beacon Works

1. Tell me what's going on.
Submit the contact form and provide some basic information about your firm and technology.

2. We discuss your needs.
We'll schedule a consultation to understand your environment and confirm whether Beacon is the right fit.

3. You authorize the engagement.
If you decide to proceed, you'll receive the engagement documents and payment information.

4. You create the assessment snapshot.
You'll use the Helmlight Info Collector to create a read-only snapshot of the devices included in the assessment. I can assist if needed.

5. I analyze the findings.
I review the collected information and prepare your Beacon Final Report.

6. We review the results together.
We'll meet to discuss the findings, priorities, recommendations, and practical next steps.

Fixed fee: $395

No long-term commitment required.

What Beacon Does Not Include

Beacon is designed to identify and prioritize technology concerns - not fix them during the assessment.

It does not include:

System changes or remediation work
Ongoing monitoring
Penetration testing
Compliance certification
Legal advice

If changes are recommended, you decide what — if anything — you want to address next. You can make the changes yourself, work with your existing IT provider, or ask Helmlight about implementation options.
